Julia Ormond

JuliaOrmond was the daughter of Josephine who was a lab technician, and John Ormond (a stockbroker) from Epsom, Surrey. Ormond is the 2nd child of five children to her parents. She went to private school, first Guildford High School and then Cranleigh School, where early stage performances like Guys and Dolls and My Fair Lady began to draw attention. After one year of arts school, she transferred to Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art which she attended until 1988, when she graduated. Ormond first came to prominence on British television in 1989's series Traffik. The show focused on the illegal trade in heroin which was carried out from the middle of the East to Europe. Ormond played the addict child of the main character the Home Office minister working to stop the importation of heroin. The role received a fawning reception at the outset.
